Full Stack Developer Building Web Applications and AI

My Story

I'm Ilyas Omar, a full-stack web developer based in Bern, Switzerland, with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from abroad. I build web applications and APIs using modern JavaScript technologies, with a focus on writing clean, maintainable code that solves real problems.

My coding journey started in 2019 with PHP, building systems with vanilla PHP and CodeIgniter. Over time, I moved into the JavaScript world, first with React.js and Node.js, then into the PERN stack, and now I focus on building full-stack applications with Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and PostgreSQL.

I learn best by building real things. I care about structure, clean code, and building something that works properly end-to-end, from the database to the user interface. I'm also currently learning how to integrate AI into web applications, using AI APIs to add real features that save time and solve actual business problems. For developers today, knowing how to build with AI is as important as knowing the framework itself.

I'm based in Bern and actively looking for opportunities in the Swiss software engineering market — whether that's an internship or a junior developer role. I'm growing my German alongside my technical skills, and I'm committed to becoming a developer who contributes well inside a real team.
